Well hello dear readers,
Welcome to something very exciting: our very first ‘Why We Write’ vlog, courtesy of Ms Paula Acton. In fact, it was Paula’s idea to approach me with this piece and I am very pleased that she has. Kick back with a cuppa and enjoy listening to her share with us her reasons for writing and taking photographs for Zest.

Fantastic feedback already, Paula! Congrats! π

I recently recorded this for the brilliant team over at Zest please check out the back issues and submission guidelines to join the talented people who have contributed so far
hey Kate! The VLOG was fabulous π I want to do a VLOG too when you need another one π I could even wear a hat at a jaunty angle π if I find a top hat so much the better. I have been toying with the idea of doing videos of me reading my poetry just for more exposure.

Great to hear from you, Val! I would love you to do a vlog for us – there is no need to wait. That could be a really nice feature within the site for previous contributors to participate in. I would love to do a vlog, but worry I would require subtitles for people to decipher my Scottish accent… lol!
As for the top hat – bring it on! π
Hey Kate π
Hope all is good there with you π
You were kind enough to publish Alchemy in the second (2nd) edition of Zest.
My first collection, Β detailsΒ , will be published in September, 2014. I will be including Alchemy in this short charity chapbook, and intend to thank Zest in the acknowledgments.
I was wondering if youΒd be willing to review the current draft of my poems and give your thoughts. I am hoping to use selected quotes as book blurbs.
Please check it out and reply at your convenience. Thank you for taking a chance on my words Kate π
Sincerely,
Valeri Beers
ps my manuscript is in a DOC format, so any word processing program should open it fine. Let me know if you need something different.
